I combined a couple of our pictures to make a Valentines Card for Reuben. The shadow picture is us from last year. During the New Years Celebration downtown there was a room with the walls covered in construction paper and chalk so people could write on the walls. My sweet husband wrote our names on the wall!
| Yes it has been awhile since my last update. Most of you I keep up with on Facebook. But I am going to try to update this xanga a little more frequently for those who aren't on Facebook. Our summer and fall have been filled with traveling. This summer Reuben's job sent him to Alaska for about 3 weeks, that was quite an adventure for him! We spent a couplle days in Glacier Park, then in October we traveled to New England, PA and NJ. It was great to see Wheaty, Martin & Sarah, Sue and Virginia! This was the first time my family met Reuben and of course they loved him! We also had the opportunity to spend a day in Boston, and Gettysburg and had lots of Dunkin Donuts! Thanks to the Fern's we are still enjoying D&D coffee here at home! Thanks guys, you're the best! Here's a couple pictures.

| I wanted to post some pictures, but xanga is being difficult today and not allowing me to do it. So Wheaty, you'll just have to wait a few more days. "Wait.....for....it!" The exciting news around here is that my foot is finally healing! I've been working for a few months now and my foot doesn't give me much trouble at all! On Sunday, Reuben & I met up with some friends to throw around a frisbee, then we went for a 4 mile hike! Unless you've been laid up for a year and a half, you probably won't understand how good it felt to be able to play frisbee and hike again! I am very excited to finally be able to do recreational activities again! WooHoo!!! A few things I don't miss from New England: humidity, mosquito's and gnats. (we rarely have any of them here) Some things I do miss: Dunkin Donuts coffee, Friendly's ice cream, and Panera bread; these are all especially good when enjoyed with friends. I'll try to post some pictures soon!

| A couple weeks ago the Carters were out here in Washington state! They were only 2 and a half hours away from me staying just outside the town where Reuben's stepmom lives!! It was great to visit with them and hear how they are doing. It's always refreshing to be with old friends. (I'm not saying that they are old, but our friendship is. We've known each other for over 10 years.)
In other news we finally have some wedding pictures to post.

| Last weekend Reuben and I drove around the lake looking for bald eagles. Apparently it's too cold in Alaska during the winter for the eagles. Most of the bodies of water freeze over in Alaska making it difficult for them to hunt fish, so they come down here and hang out at our lakes for the winter - well that's what the locals tell me anyway. (Alicia - have you seen any eagles up there in frozen Alaska?) I just love watching them! They are beautiful birds! We did find some, but unfortunately my pictures didn't come out all that good. So here is an image from last year that I took.
Not much new to report here. I'm not working yet, still doing physical therapy twice a week. I long for the day when my foot doesn't hinder me from doing what I want to do. As we were playing cards one night, Reuben had this idea that we would keep a running score of our Rummy game. Haha, we've had it going for quite a while now. The score is up in the 8,000's, and he's in the lead, but I am confident I will catch up!
